Five Lined Skink

I photographed this five-lined skink on the side of our house. Skinks appear to like the sunny surfaces.

I like the word “skink”.

I like the term skink as well. Some people mistakenly call them salamanders, which are amphibians. It ‘s okay to call them lizards, as skinks are lizards (reptiles).
