Hiking at the Homestead

The Homestead
The
Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia is known for its golf courses, but it also offers some hiking trails. The resort is typically very expensive to stay at; however, they recently offered some specials so my wife and I stayed there for a night on a trip south.
A trail map provided by the Homestead Resort shows the South Trail and the Deerlick Trail. However, a staff member at the Consierge desk mentioned the North Trail which is not depicted on the map. She said it is the most scenic trail as it takes you up into the mountains with views. The North Trail begins across the street from the spring-fed indoor pool, near Sam Snead’s Tavern. The trail is marked by signs.
We enjoyed our time on the trail and spotted a stinkhorn mushroom and jewelweed.
