Black Bear Going After Yellow Jacket Nest

My wife got these photos of a bear digging at a yellow jackets nest. She said the bear apparently got stung and ran off. I guess the fur doesn’t prevent all stings. I subsequently approached the nest and got a photo.

I wish the bears could be more successful is this is not the only nest in our yard. Despite looking for and spraying nests, I was stung twice last weekend working in the yard.
