Roanoke just finished its hottest July on record.
We had some searing afternoons: 95 or above on 10 days and 102 on back-to-back days July 6-7.
But focusing on high temperatures is looking at the wrong end of the thermometer.
Like so many summer warmth records in the past three years, the key was the persistently sultry low temperatures…
