The other day, I went for a run on the Appalachian Trail and stopped by workout to take a picture. I make it a habit to run with a hand-held camera in case I find something I want to take a picture of. I thought this red and yellow columbine flower looked nice in the sun. It was growing along the trail where it crosses the side-by-side 500kV and 720kV powerlines in Fauquier County, Virginia. When the power company put in the 720kV power line, it caused a bit of controversy around here. More on that in a future post!
