S. P. Gass was born in Fairfax, VA and graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. With a particular passion for the Shenandoah Valley, S. P. has recently taken up wildlife photography as a hobby. Additionally, he and his wife are members of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club and have completed numerous hikes, running events, bicycle rides, and backpacking trips in the area. S.P. maintains a portion of the Appalachian Trail as a volunteer PATC Trail Overseer.
