We went to Virginia Beach last weekend and there was still some nice fall color to see.

The black gum tree puts on a nice show in early fall. These pictures were taken a couple weeks ago. I like the red color presented… similar to maples.

Here’s a photo I took last fall of a sumac tree growing along a powerline cut. There are several different types of sumac trees; I believe this one may be a dwarf sumac. They are considered to be weedy trees by some people, but they provide some nice red fall color.
