Here are a couple pictures of a white flowering dogwood in our front yard… the American Dogwood is Virginia’s official state flower and is one of the superb flowering trees of Virginia.

The Flowering Dogwood tree is the official state flower of Virginia. Technically speaking, the showy white leaves are not a part of the flower; they are actually bracts not petals. But that doesn’t really matter to me.
