We got more ice on Saturday night.  It was melting fast by Sunday afternoon.

I took this picture of ice on trees at Old Dominion Wildlife headquarters today.  The icing was not as severe as some of the storms we had last winter.

A couple of weeks ago, 3/4″ of snow fell here.  Last night and today we’re having our second winter event in the form of ice accumulating on trees, decking, etc.

I captured my first red fox on film today during the fourth ice storm of the season. The image quality is not very good due to the fact the fox was on the move and also because the picture was taken through a kitchen window.

The third ice storm of the season was even more spectacular a day later as the sun shined down upon the ice laden trees. My wife snapped this great photo on a road winding through the glass-like trees.

Last night, we experienced the third ice storm this winter. At Old Dominion Wildlife Headquarters, ice was mainly confined to rocks and decking. However, there was significant ice on trees just a mile north at lower elevations. In this photo, a 500 kV power line passes by ice covered trees.
