A pickerel frog was hanging out in our backyard recently.  The wet May and June created a nice muddy habitat underneath our deck.

A couple luna moths recently visited our kitchen window screens for a couple of days.

Newts are common pets, but are toxic.  You should also wash your hands after handling and never put a newt in your mouth.

Eastern newts may close their eyes when stressed.  We spotted this one along the Appalachian Trail in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
