This year I noticed some hawkweed growing in the backyard. The yellow flowers are taller than dandelions and coltsfoot with different leaves.
Here’s another photo of small yellow flowers spotted along the road during a jog. According to this site, sweet clover is an invasive plant:

These tall yellow flowers are common in sunny areas. They remind me a bit of the cardinal flower, in that they would be more spectacular if all the blossoms bloomed simultaneously.
